Bed and Breakfast Weekend

Tracie and I spent the weekend down in Manitou Springs at a Bed and Breakfast called Victoria's Keep. This B&B was built in 1892, and has six rooms all decorated in a victorian motif.

We stayed in the Queen's Chamber for two nights. Breakfast was served each morning at 8:30am and was very delicious. The room had its' own bath, shower, fireplace and hot tub. To find out more about this Bed and Breakfast, click on this link.

Nearby was Miramont Castle, a building that was built by Father Francolon. The castle includes 46 rooms with approximately 15,000 square feet of space. Miramont Castle was built in the 1890's, and includes a mix of architectural styles (Queen Anne, Romanesque, English Tudor, Flemish, domestic Elizabethan, Gothic, Chateau, Venetian Ogee, Bytantine and Moorish). We also took a trip to the top of Pikes Peak on the Cog Railway. This railway is the worlds highest cog railroad in the United States. A cog railroad is used when conditions are too steep for a standard railway. The round trip takes around 3½ hours, which includes about a ½ hour on the summit.
