St. Elmo - [Circa 1870's]

St. Elmo is one of the best preserved ghost towns in the state. This town is easily reached from the town of Nathrop, south of Buena Vista.

During St. Elmo's boom years, the town had three hotels, five restaurants, a general store, a grocery, a butcher shop, a shoe store, billiards and several sawmills.
